At 13.5 lbs and strong enough to lift a pontoon boat this tough translucent material installs in less than 7 hrs, is non corrosive unlike aluminum underskinning. In addition to obtaining product patents, we obtained trademark registration for the VARA® brand. PHA, Inc. is now registered with the USPTO, and the VARA® registration has been issued for ALL our product and VARA® designs. Each new design is followed by no less than 3 prototypes, and redesigns to ensure structure and safety exceed today’s operational standards with confidence.
Once we obtain safe, repeatable, predictable, structural product for the demands of the marine industry, it is made available for sale. Proof of VARA® Foil Products
Our VARA® Foil product kit recently powered an NFL Superbowl Champs 30’ heavy tritoon boat equipped with a 200hp outboard motor. His story started at a maximum speed of 26 mph that was converted to a huge smile @ 41 mph ( 57.5% increase)! Another recently installed VARA® Foil kit converted a 20’ pontoon boat powered with a 70 hp motor from 18 mph to an impressive 30 mph with NO prop change (66.5% increase).
Our latest VARA® Foil Do-It-Yourself installer proved that it takes 2-2.5x the horsepower to deliver the same speed increase as a VARA® Foil install. This customer installed two different outboard applications on his 22’ pontoon boat. His testing used a 90 hp outboard producing 23 mph max speed then a 225 hp that would deliver 40 mph max speed. He then converted the pontoon boat with a VARA® Foil kit and refit the 90 hp outboard. After 3 “dial in” sessions which included a prop change, his results were quite eye-opening.

PHA, Inc. proudly boasts that our products have crossed the Atlantic Ocean safely, proving that a VARA® Foil hydrofoil installed on a 2012 20’ pontoon boat with a 75hp can achieve and raise the performance bar of all pontoon and tritoon boats. Our 230-mile blue ocean trip is documented on our YouTube channel @PontoonHydrofoil. We completed this escorted trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini, Bimini to Freeport Bahamas, then back to Ft. Lauderdale with a total fuel usage of less than 58 gallons and a 16mph avg speed.
